PONS CITY · Robinhood Chain · 4663

100 lots. One of them is yours for exactly as long as you hold it.

Lots occupied

Not deployed. These read off the chain, and there is no chain state to read yet.

Stake $CITY on a lot and the largest stake holds it. Every trade of $CITY pays ETH into a contract nobody owns, and every settlement divides what arrived across all 100 lots. The lots nobody has taken keep stacking their share until somebody does.

The game is free and needs no wallet. Bring one only if you want a lot.

What this is

Two things on one map.

You can walk the city and never touch a wallet. THE RUN is a game: order tickets come out of THE WIRE ROOM, each names a pit and a countdown, and you carry them there before the time is up. It scores you and then it forgets you, because the score lives in your browser and nowhere else.

THE GRID is the same city as state. Every building you run past is one of 100 lots, and a lot that somebody has staked on renders taller and lit. So the skyline is not decoration. It is the ledger, drawn.

Nothing you do in the game changes anything on chain, and nothing on chain changes the game. They share a map and a palette. That is the whole of the relationship, and it is deliberate: a game that paid out would be a slot machine with a sprite on it.

The run

Before the wire, somebody had to carry the paper.

A brokerage floor used to work like this. Orders came in by phone to a clerk, the clerk wrote a ticket, and a runner carried that ticket across the floor to the right pit before the market moved. It was a real job, done by people, at a sprint. That is the game, and it is history rather than flavour.

Tickets come out of THE WIRE ROOM. Each one names a pit, a side, and how long you have. You can carry three at once, and carrying three slows you down.

Deliver it to the right pit in time and it is FILLED. Late is BUSTED. Wrong pit is a MISFILL, which costs you score and cools the pit down.

Traffic on the avenues will knock the tickets out of your hands. THE BEAR patrols, slowly, and takes one on contact. The last hour is the worst hour, which is also true.

At 16:00 the bell rings and you get a scorecard. A run takes 90 to 150 seconds, so the honest thing to do is start another one.

  • 480 x 270 native, integer scaled, no blur
  • WASD or arrows, E to pick up and drop, touch pad on phones
  • Best score kept in this browser only
  • Reduced motion honoured: the shake and the ticker crawl stop

The game pays nothing and cannot pay anything. There is no wallet connection in it, no score on chain, and no prize. It is here because a city you cannot walk through is a diagram.

The grid

The same 100 lots, as state.

A lot is held by whichever wallet has the most $CITY staked on it. That is the entire rule for holding. There is no auction, no deadline, no whitelist and no minimum.

The holder takes the lot's whole share. Nothing is split inside a lot. Second place on a lot earns exactly what tenth place earns, which is nothing. That is what makes this territory instead of a staking pool.

Every lot has a weight and the rule is one sentence: the closer to the centre, the more it is worth. The table is a constant in the contract, published before launch, and there is no function anywhere that can change a number in it.

Being outstaked is lossless. Somebody with a bigger stake takes the lot. You keep every token you put in and everything you already earned, and you can withdraw both whenever you want. There is no hot potato here, and being outbid is not a way to lose money.

So the decision is a congestion problem, which is the decision a real city makes about rent. Contest a downtown lot for a big share and risk somebody outstaking you. Or take a cheap edge lot for a small share and keep it. Both are correct. They are correct for different people.

SEEDED LAYOUT This is the shape of the city, not the state of it.

Click a lot, or focus the map and use the arrow keys, to read that lot's weight, holder and carry.

The lot

LOT 45 · weight 100 · vacant

CARRY 0.000000 ETH, built up over 0 settlements with nobody here.

Hold this lot for one full period and the carry is yours.

  • Downtown, weight 100
  • The edge, weight 16
  • A landmark building
  • Carry, as light

A lot with more staked on it renders taller and more lit. A lot nobody holds is a dark plot behind a chain-link fence, and it glows harder the longer its carry has been building. Nothing on this map is decorative.

A lot nobody wants is filling up anyway.

Every settlement divides the ETH across all 100 lots by weight, and that includes the lots nobody has taken. An empty lot's share is not handed to the occupied lots and it is not burned. It stays on that lot and it stacks. That pile is THE CARRY, and it belongs to the lot rather than to anybody.

Nobody funds the carry and nobody decides where it goes. It is simply what being ignored is worth, paid to whoever stops ignoring it. Which means an edge lot that has sat dark for weeks can be worth more than a downtown lot three people are fighting over, and the longer downtown stays crowded, the truer that gets. The city corrects itself, and nobody has to run the correction.

You do not need a leaderboard to find them. The empty lot glowing hardest is the one that has been left alone longest.

The first wallet to hold that lot for a full period takes all of it.

You cannot take the rent by turning up at the last second.

A holder is credited only after their stake has been in place across a full settlement period. Stake now and you are paid from the settlement after next, never the next one.

That single rule is what makes the carry worth taking instead of worth sniping. Without it, the smart play on a fat lot is to watch for the settlement, stake into it in the same block, take the pile and leave, and every patient holder on the map would be farming for whoever has the faster bot. A borrowed stake would work too: flash loan, stake, settle, claim, unstake, repay, all inside one call.

With the lock, none of that pays. The stake has to have been sitting there before anybody knew what the settlement would hold.

It costs you one period of patience, once. What it buys you is that everyone else has to be patient too.

Adding to a stake restarts its period, even if you already hold the lot.

The clock restarts on any increase, including one made by the wallet that already holds the lot. So a top-up buys you nothing until the settlement after next, and costs you the one in between. If you want more on a lot you already hold, that is the price.

The uniformity is the point. Without it a dust stake could be parked early, left to mature, and sized up in the same block as a settlement, which is the attack the lock exists to stop. Any stake control on this site will say so at the point of the click rather than here.

    Where the rent comes from

5.70% of every trade, both directions.

Every buy and every sell of $CITY on pons pays a fee in native ETH.

0.70%pons's trading fee, our 70% share of the 1% base
5.00%the creator tax, set at 500 of a possible 1000 bps
5.70%of every trade, in both directions

The first three seconds cost more than that.

pons charges a snipe tax on the opening of a launch. It starts at 9900 basis points and decays to nothing across roughly the first three seconds, so a buy made inside that window costs far more than 5.70%. It is booked into the same base fee as everything else, which means 70% of it lands in CITY HALL exactly like every other base fee.

5.70% is the number for an ordinary trade. It is not the number for a trade made in the first three seconds. We are saying so because the difference is in our favour, and a page that understates what it charges you is not one worth reading.

CITY HALL is named as the creator fee recipient by the launcher itself, in the same transaction that mints $CITY. It is not a wallet that later agreed to be generous. There is no block in which a person could have claimed that stream.

Fees are swept, not pulled. Creator fees accrue inside the locked Uniswap V3 position, and a sweep operated by pons is what credits the escrow. Only then can CITY HALL claim. So what is claimable lags what has been earned, and the lag is on pons's schedule, not ours. Anybody can call harvest(), which pulls whatever has been swept into CITY HALL. It cannot do anything else, which is why it needs no permission.

settle() takes the ETH that arrived since the last settlement and divides it across all 100 lots, in proportion to their published weights. A lot with an eligible holder pays its entire share to that holder. A lot without one keeps its share as carry. Anybody can call settle(). No keeper holds a key.

So the ETH only ever moves in three directions: into CITY HALL, to a holder who earned it, or onto a lot to wait for one. There is no fourth direction and there is no address that could add one.

Nobody is paid for holding $CITY. There is no distribution to holders, no rate, and no schedule. Rent goes to lots, and a lot is something you have to hold, for a full period, before it pays you anything.

    City hall

    What the contract cannot do.

    • No owner. There is no privileged address and no admin role. Nothing to renounce later, because there is nothing to renounce.
    • No setter. The lot weights are constants. The fee split is whatever pons snapshotted at launch. Nobody can retune this after you have staked into it.
    • No pause. There is no switch that stops withdrawals, stakes or settlements.
    • No proxy, no upgrade, no selfdestruct. The code you read is the code that runs, for as long as the chain runs.
    • settle() and harvest() are permissionless. They move ETH in one direction and any wallet can fire them, including yours, including at four in the morning.
    • Your principal is always yours. Withdraw your stake and your earnings whenever you want. Eviction does not touch either.

None of that is a promise. It is an absence, and an absence is checkable. Read the source, read the ABI, and note what is missing from it.

Every figure on this page is an eth_call your own browser makes. There is nothing to call yet, so they all read zero. They will keep reading zero until there is a contract, and then they will read whatever is true. Nothing here is a mock-up of a busy city.

What is real today: the game, the map, the art and the source. You can play the city before anybody owns any of it.

Nobody holds anything yet. All 100 lots are vacant, and the moment there is rent, all 100 start carrying.

    Questions

    The things people ask first.

Do I have to play the game to earn rent?

No. The game and the chain do not touch. You can hold a lot without ever opening the game, and you can play every day without holding anything.

    Does playing pay anything?

No. The score is in your browser. There is no token in it, no prize and no wallet connection.

    Can I just hold $CITY?

You can, and it pays you nothing. Holding is not staking. The rent goes to lots.

What happens if somebody outstakes me?

They hold the lot and start collecting its rent, once they have held it a full period. You keep your entire stake and everything you already earned, and you can take both out whenever you want.

How long do I have to hold before I get paid?

One full settlement period. Stake now and you are paid from the settlement after next, never the next one. This is THE LOCK, and it is there so nobody can watch for a settlement, stake into a rich lot in the same block and take it off the people who were already there.

I already hold the lot. Should I add to my stake?

Only if you are willing to lose a period on it. Any increase restarts the clock, including one from the wallet that already holds the lot, so a top-up costs you one settlement and buys you nothing until the next one. It works that way so a dust stake cannot be parked early and sized up in the same block as a settlement.

Is 5.70% really what a trade costs?

For an ordinary trade, yes. For the first three seconds of the launch, no. pons charges a snipe tax that starts at 9900 basis points and decays to nothing over roughly three seconds, and it goes into the same base fee, so 70% of it reaches CITY HALL like every other fee. If you buy in that window you are paying far more than 5.70%.

    Are the landmark lots reserved?

No. CITY HALL, THE EXCHANGE, THE WIRE ROOM, THE BOARD and THE BRIDGE are buildings painted on the map. Those five lots carry their ring weight, can be staked, and pay their holder exactly like the other ninety five. A lot nobody could hold would still draw a weighted share, and that share would have no way out.

Can I take a fat carry by staking right before a settlement?

No. That is the exact thing the lock exists to stop. Your stake has to have been in place before anybody knew what the settlement would hold.

When does the rent get paid?

When somebody calls settle(). Anybody can, including you. Until then whatever has arrived is sitting in CITY HALL where you can see it.

What happens to the rent on a lot nobody holds?

It stays on that lot and stacks. It is never burned, never handed to the other lots and never swept anywhere. The first wallet to hold that lot for a full period collects everything that built up while it sat empty.

Why is claimable less than what has been earned?

Because pons runs the sweep that moves creator fees into the escrow, and CITY HALL cannot claim before that has happened. The gap is a timing gap on somebody else's schedule. We are not going to give you a cadence for it, because it is not ours to give.

Who can change the lot weights?

Nobody. They are constants and there is no function that writes them.

    Is downtown better?

It has a bigger share of the rent and more people trying to take it off you. An edge lot has a small share, no queue, and possibly a large carry sitting on it from every settlement nobody was there for. Which one is better depends entirely on who else shows up, which is the point.

    What are the launch parameters?

$CITY launches through the pons v2 factory on Robinhood Chain with launchConfigId 0, native ETH as the pair token, creatorTaxBps 500, buyback disabled, and CITY HALL forced as the creator fee recipient. The launch fee pons charges is 0.0005 ETH. The contents of config 0 are published by pons and readable off the factory. Read them there rather than here: we are not going to retype somebody else's constant and become the source of truth for it.

    Is it audited?

No. The source is public and so are the tests. That is not an audit and it is not going to be called one.

    Do I need a wallet?

Not for the game. For a lot, yes, and you need ETH on Robinhood Chain, which arrives over the canonical Arbitrum bridge.

    Is there a dev allocation?

There is not, and the reason is structural rather than moral. Launch config 0 mints the whole supply into the pons bonding curve, and the launch transaction has no step in it that could put a token anywhere else. So this is not a promise anybody is making to you. It is a property of the config, and you can check it on chain once there is a chain to check. If an opening buy is made, it is made from a wallet on pons like anybody else's, and it is visible like anybody else's.

There is also no treasury besides CITY HALL, no multisig and no governance. There is nothing to govern.

    What this is not

The claims we are not making.

    • Not yield. Rent is a split of fees that other people paid. If nobody trades, nothing arrives, and the split of nothing is nothing.
    • Not a promise of payment. Fees are swept by pons on pons's schedule. Timing is not ours, so we do not offer one.
    • Not a game that pays. THE RUN scores you in your own browser and stops there.
    • Not a company. No allocation, no treasury, no multisig, no governance.
    • Not audited. Public tests are not an audit.
    • Not an investment. $CITY is a memecoin. Holding it entitles you to nothing at all.
